Relive the magic of Lazise’s historical reenactment through this virtual photo exhibition, dedicated to the 2025 edition.
In 983, Emperor Otto II granted Lazise a unique privilege, marking the birth of the first municipality in Italy.
Today, this ancient tradition comes alive in the streets of the village, with medieval camps, ladies, men-at-arms, and musicians transforming the town into a timeless scene.

In these twenty-three photographs, the historical reenactment of the Privilegium Ottonis is brought to life through its most significant moments.
While all historical reenactments inevitably carry tourist and theatrical elements, the photographer—who holds a degree in history—looks beyond the surface: each shot becomes a genuine bridge between past and present.

The square format and the clarity of the 4K high-resolution images enhance the details, emotions, and gestures, all aiming to revive the collective memory of a community.
For those willing to see beyond the surface, historical reenactments are more than just spectacle—they are rituals that invite us to remember who we were, so we may recognize ourselves in a story that still belongs to us.

This virtual exhibition is an invitation to look beyond the tourist’s gaze, and to rediscover, in the beauty of these images, the living heartbeat of tradition.
